Campaign Promises

By now our kabayans back home will hear so many campaign promises from those running for president down to the town councilor. The usual promise will be changing the lives of every Juan. If you’re wise enough, you should never hear these clowns let alone believe in their promises. Nakailang Pangulo na ba tayo at nakailang election na? Pero just look at what happen to our country. Eto, nilapastangan lang ng mga sira ulo at makakapal na mukha na mga politico.

An Oligarch media is sponsoring a movement that aimed to change the perception of young people. They say that change should start from the youth. In a way, it’s also to endorse their presidential candidate AbNoynoy for the presidency. As you know, they’d already endorse the candidacy of AbNoynoy in support of talent, Tetay. Support lang daw but deep within, the Lopezes are positioning themselves in AbNoynoy’s campaign so they can protect their business interests. If you watch their news shows you’ll know what I mean. They’re peddling lies and innuendoes and they’re not at all balanced.

Going back to campaign promises. I really believe that no Presidential candidate or President for that matter can really change our lives. We should never give our hopes and dreams in the hands of our politicians. After the elections, the militants would still burn the effigies of the newly elected leader. They’d still shout that the president is the tuta of the kano. They’d still say that the president has not done enough to uplift the people from poverty. Well, the government has so many social programs that helps alleviates poverty but the president could not singlehandedly address the needs of every Filipino.

Though I hate the oligarch media ABS CBN, I agree that we should be the springboard to change. We should look at ourselves because we have nobody to turn to except ourselves and our family. We should never leave our faith to the politicians. There’s a saying that says “If you are born to a poor parents, it’s not your faults but if you are still poor, it’s your fault.” If you want to succeed in life you should strive and work hard for it. Remember, it’s not Gloria’s fault why you’re hungry. You’re hungry because you’re indolent.

May kasabihan nga that you help yourself first before God will help you. I agree, paano ka naman tutulungan ng Panginoon kung tatamad tamad ka. Ang success ay hindi pagkain na ihahain lang sa iyo. You have to work hard in order to attain success.

So please po, kahit anong pangako ang ibibigay sa inyo ng mga politico, wala ni isa diyan ang magkakatotoo. Let’s learn from the lessons of history. Walang makakatulong sa atin kundi an gating mga sarili lamang.
