Bahrain New Visa Rules

Malaking gulo talaga because recently, the Bahrain part of the King Fahd Causeway is stopping Saudi based expatriate from entering the Kingdom of Bahrain. This is in connection with their recently released rules on entry. Bahrain won’t anymore allow Saudi based expatriates with iqamas whose profession are listed as house driver, watchman, laborer, plumber, electrician, painter, welder, mason or shepherd. These people can enter Bahrain provided they have a valid entry visa issued by the Bahraini Embassy in Riyadh.

Vacationing OFWs with transit visa will be given on arrival visas irrespective of the category while those who have professional visa category are still given free entry.

--oo0oo--

This will end all the press releases of our fellow Kabayans who would always brag about going to Bahrain on weekends. Kasi malalaman at malalaman na rin natin na ang mga visa ng mga iyan ay labor lang naman pala! LOL. I myself have been to Bahrain several times for business and pleasure but I wasn’t at all impressed. Ang liliti ng mga kalsada at daming parang mga squatters. The only showcase they have is the Diplomatic Area that looks like Roxas Blvd. if you’re in the Philippines. Yon lang naman other than there’s liquor. Kaya kahit anong pinagsasabi nila I’d still prefer Al Khobar and Dammam over Bahrain.

Yes, i've read about complaints from various nationals of the inconvenience it has caused esp. from Saudi women who had to be driven by a family chauffeur. I think this is another law or directives made in haste without proper consultation as to its adverse effect with no clear cut remedy to any repercussion it may bring.

So gone are the glory days for our compatriots who make their wanderlust in Bahrain conspicuously written in their resume. Goodbye bragging?
