Bad yan ha! Kapal talaga ng mukha! After stealing the yellow ribbon design from ‘Childhood cancer awareness campaign’, Abnoynoy is now claiming credits for the EDSA revolution that took place in the historic highway 24 years ago.
Just to refresh the minds of our kabayans, EDSA Revolution was a historic event and was not headed by a particular group. It’s not owned by Abnoynoy, the manok of the Media Oligarch ABS CBN or by the Liberal Party (LP). That’s why it’s should never be used by anyone just to further their political ambition. Political pundit says that even the later President Cory Aquino was just a byproduct of the revolution.
According to PGMA “EDSA I is a testament to the courage of the ordinary people who trooped to the stretch of the highway in 1986. It is a tribute to the soldiers of 1986 who recognized that true power came from the people and not form the barrel of a gun. It is also the guide to the Filipino soldiers of today who make great sacrifices to defend the freedoms of the ordinary Filipino,”.
Yon ha, it’s the courage of ordinary people. Cory was not there because she went on a hiding in a Cebu Monastery, AbNoynoy was not there, KuriMar was not there, Baboy Drilon was not there and even most of the candidates of LP were not there. Baka siguro nga si Lito Atienza, initsapwera ng LP ay nandoon pa nga siguro.
EDSA was a historical event but I also believe that it was a mistake. EDSA just divide our people and it can be proven by several coup attempts, military adventurism, rallies of the militants against all seating presidents and too much politicking from all sides of the political fences.

True, indeed. Although I quite disagree with you that it was a mistake. It wasn't. For what it's worth, EDSA brought us together. It showed us the endless possibilities for a good change. Short-lived nga lang. Because after some time, we ended up disillusioned. Lam mo naman ang mga Pinoy, madaling magsawa. Tapos mahilig pa tayong mamulitika. You know. Whenever we don't like a political figure and he/she gets elected, we immediately find ways to unseat her/him.
I hope after we've elected our next President, be it Noynoy or Gibo, let's support him. Let's move on after May 2010. That's the only way we can progress as a nation.
