Well, marami na naman ang nanalo sa tayaan. Filipinos always see an opportunity to make money. Good luck sa mga nanalo at bad luck sa mga natalo. There are people who condemn the gambling that go with the boxing fight but they never realized that the promoters staged the boxing to gamble. I am not against the gamblers as long as they can support their lifestyles. As you are well aware, most of the gamblers are the poor and vulnerable people. They always believe in the game of chance. Kahit na wala ng makain, they’d still bet. I once spoke to a close friend of mine who is a habitual gambler. He told me that gambling is addictive. It’s the only thing that comes to your mind. You’ll go crazy if you can’t gamble. It’s really a psychological disorder.
Kung hindi naman nagsusugal nagbibinta naman ng CD or DVD of the fight. In fact, mamayang gabi if you go to Al Khobar, entrepreneurial pinoys there will be selling the CD of the fight. There will also be people like me who would buy them.
Manny’s victory is an income generating opportunity for most our fellow kabayan. Ingat lang mga kabayan kasi betting (gambling) and selling pirated CDs are illegal activities. Nasa huli ang pagsisisi.
