Kabayan’s Dilemma

A friend of a friend or just a plain ‘Kabayan’, since I don’t know him personally has a very big dilemma. He was offered a job from another company. The job offer gives him the basic pay three (3) times bigger than what he is currently earning. It also has a provision for a family status and several perks that all ‘Kabayan’ would dreamed of having.

Now here’s the deal. Kabayan’s present company does not give NOC. It means that he has to exit the Kingdom and go back the Philippines to get a new visa. The company that gave him a job offer has several visas so visa is not a problem here. His dilemma is he unwittingly underwent the biometric finger printing last week.

The biometric finger printing’s aim is to monitor the people entering the Kingdom. It will also address the problem that the kingdom faces in terms of people using fraudulent papers to gain entry. The biometric finger printing will surely affect the Filipino community here in the Kingdom. As you are well aware, when a Filipino resigns and exit the kingdom, he will only have to change his passport, get a new visa from another company and after Four (4) weeks he’s back! This new guidelines will really restrict the movement of the Filipinos. Since we are in trying times, we should seriously consider our options from now on. Gone are the days when we leave the companies we are working when we feel like living it. Since there is a ban of Twenty Four (24) months for those who exited the Kingdom, those who enters the kingdom within that period faces deportation the moment they arrive at any entry point.

It will. Actually, it already has.

But I thought the biometric measure applies only to people who have ERE visa but opted to enter Saudi with another visa from a new employer.

That people with Exit Only visa -- unless they have criminal records -- can always return anytime. So hindi pala?
