When I started working with HR I vowed not to help any of my Kamag Anak Inc. get a job in our company. I’ve heard horror stories before from my colleagues who helped their relatives get a job and they were embarrassed by their relative’s mediocre performance. Some of the relative go to the extent of naming their influence in the HR Department. So I told myself that I will never help any of my Kamag Anak Inc. in securing a job in my company. If they apply without my knowledge, I will still drop them like hot potato in the final selection. I will make it a point that they will never be selected. My influence would only be within the company of course. I am a very fair person but if it’s a family member, I will make it a point that he’ll be interviewed much less given a job offer.
I will only help my Kamag Anak Inc., secure a job in other companies. The good thing in being in HR is that you’ll encounter passionate people who are also in the HR profession. You’ll expand your network that you’ll be surprised how your network and connection could really help you. My friends in HR industry were able to help me deploy my Kamag Anak Inc. in their companies. Their help made me remain true to my vow in not helping my Kamag Anak Inc. secure job in my company. In return, I also helped them find placements for their Kamag Anak Inc. in our company. Of course, they secured the job because they’re qualified and went through the process.
Friends in the same industry can also help you when times are tough. It’s because they know what you’re going through and they know the way out. The referrals of your colleague in HR are also helpful because we’re only moving in small circle. I take care of my connections. They come in handy in the future when you need them in the future.

Media’s Bias against the Yaps
It looks like it’s not just ABiaS CBN who’s biased but most of the broadsheets and tabloid as well. I am talking about the interview that James Yap’s mother graciously gave to GMA Network’s chat show. James mother said that she was very against the idea of James being married to Kris Aquino. She believed that the gap not just in age but in social status of the two would eventually overwhelm them both. James apparently had a girlfriend during that time and they were just surprised when James called them up and said that he and Kris are already married.
There’s no love lost between Kris and her former in laws since she never really worked hard to be close to them. She sees them as opportunistic people who are only after her money and fame. It wasn’t the case since James’ family, although middle class never asked money from her.
Going back to the bias of the media towards James, they never talked about James mom’s interview. The coverage wasn’t the same (zero coverage) as when Tetay announced that she had enough of James and she’s calling it quits. Believe it or not, PDI and the Philippine Star wasted ¾ of their paper’s front pages to cover that story. When that story broke out, AbNoynoy was preparing to swear in at the Rizal Park. AbNoynoy should have been the cover story but the media did not give any importance to that. They’re more interested on what Tetay has to say against James Yap and his family. If they weren’t biased towards James Yap, they would have given importance to what the Yap family has to say. It’s the right opportunity for the media to prove their balance reporting but they just ignore the opportunity.
I feel for the Yap family because they’re just ordinary people. It just happened that their son is a top basketball player in the Philippines. James Yap is a legend in the basketball arena even before he married Kris Aquino. Tetay now thinks that she made James Yap which is not true. She owes James Yap a lot because even if she’s not a respectable woman (hindi matinong babae), James married her anyway. As for the accusations of James womanizing, he’s a basketball player and a healthy male. Tetay had her share of sleeping around everywhere with Binay and Escudero to name the few.
I think that the Aquino family flexed their muscles so that James mother’s interview with GMA will not be covered. They could very well do that considering that the PDI, Star and ABiaS CBN are rabid supporter of P-AbNoynoy. If you watch ABiaS CBN’s reporting now, you’ll think that they’re a government run media outlet. The Aquino’s are capable of silencing their enemies by using their influence. How else could you explain the deafening silence?

Another Death in the Family
I’ve learned to accept the fact that death could really strike us anytime. It’s not something that we can predict except of course in cases where there’s a prolonged and incurable illness where death is already given.
My Tito Romy, my mother’s younger brother passed away last night (3 August 2010). Four years ago he was admitted into the ICU because of heart ailment. The doctors advised the family that he should undergo a heart bypass operation within a year. They couldn’t heed the doctor’s advice then because of monetary issue. It took them three years to actually raise the money, thanks to his daughter (My cousin) who married an American man in Oregon. When they had the money, My Tito decided that the money is better spent in buying farm lands. He said that bypass or not, he’s still going to die anyway. And then he died, suddenly, I guess suddenly is not the appropriate word since it’s already an anticipated death.
My sister Bam said that mom cried a ton of tears. I can’t blame her, who wouldn’t cry when you lost your brother. I didn’t cry though. I don’t know if I’m insensitive to my Tito’s death or what but I just couldn’t summon the feelings of mourning. I think it’s because I wasn’t really close to him. There was never an opportunity for us to be closer. He’s a good man though but I really didn’t feel anything. I’ll be patient and wait for a day or two if I can feel my family’s pain while praying for the eternal repose of his soul.

Half Truth Commission
P-AbNoynoy like his mother Tita Cory is vindictive and would go out of his way just to get back at his enemies instead of moving the nation forward. As they say, history repeats itself and P-AbNoynoy will wake up one day that his term ended without any major accomplishments. Tita Cory also pushed and went out of her way to punish the Marcoses. Twenty (20) years pass forward and the Marcoses are back without any single conviction.
We all know that during the time of Tita Cory the Kamag Anak Inc., (Cojuanco’s, Sumulong, etc) abused their affiliation to the President. They controlled and manipulated the stock market, controlled the illegal logging, illegal gambling and jueteng. They never faced an investigation from General Tabaco. P-AbNoynoy should seriously look at his mother’s (and Kamag Anak Inc.) wrongdoing first before investigating the Arroyo Administration. Another thing, why single out Arroyo? Why not investigate the Cory Aquino, FVR, Erap Administration as well?
P-AbNoynoy should call this Commission that he signed into an Executive Order in order to pursue cases against former President GMA ‘Half Truth Commission’. It’s Half Truth because its objective is to investigate the opponents but spare the friends and the Kamag Anak Inc. The Commission’s task they say is to find out the abuses of the Arroyo Administration. It’s as simple as saying that they haven’t found any faults yet. What if they couldn’t find any?
Legal experts have questioned the establishment of this commission. They said that it’s a tiger without claws. It’s problematic since Congress should enact a law in order for the Commission to have a subpoena powers. It only goes to show that the people behind the back of P-AbNoynoy did not think it through. There are now questions that if P-AbNoynoy can establish a Commission by merely signing an EO without and enabling law from the Congress, what’s there to stop him from abusing his powers in the future? What would stop him from creating another Commission to review the ‘Half Truth Commission’ in case walang makikitang evidence? He should not meddle with the legislative functions of our government. Sabagay, he’s so bobo that when he was at the House and Senate wala naman siyang nagawa. Isang mambabatas for 9 years na walang nagawang batas.
We don’t need to establish Half Truth Commission to investigate wrongdoings of the previous administrations. Our constitution and laws created a venue for those complaints already. If they think that they have a strong case against the Arroyos, they should file it in the proper forum/ courts. ABiaS CBN is the only winner and will have a field day with the establishment of this Half Truth Commission because definitely AbNoynoy will be favoring them.
