The Vatican issued a document entitled “Guidelines for the use of Psychology in the admission and Formation of Candidates for the Priesthood”. The document outlines the psychological evaluation formation centers may use in screening candidates from homosexual tendencies and psychological disorders. The document promises early detection of psychological disorders that helps eliminate the possibility of future clergy abuse.
Homosexuality has been pinpointed as the culprit of scandals that rock the Universal Church worldwide. A documented report says that 80-90% of abusive priests have maintained sexual relationships with adolescent boys.
It is sad that CBCB is more concerned about the politics and their personal agendas. They CBCP became a good example of hypocrisy because they choose to overlook the sexual abuses of their priests. They are only good in condemning the politicians when they themselves are sinners. CBCP should be more concerned of the spiritual needs of their religious flock. We should not wonder why people are leaving the church. They wanted enlightenment but are only disappointed every time they hear a mass because the priest are politicking.

Prevention is better than cure? How about 'testing' and 'treating' those who are already 'sick?'
Evaluate the future priests, evaluate the present priests. Having the statistics (epidemiology) of this 'ill' servants would surely help the Vatican to 'prevent,' 'treat,' and 'control' this prevailing disease problem (homosexuality?).
The big question is: Is the test reliable? Is it already proven to have a very very low chances of error?
I don't think that the Vatican and the Universal Church would relent to testing the Priests/Bishop who are currently in service. Remember, it took the Vatican centuries to the atrocracies that the church was involved in the middle ages and the reformation. It also took them decades to apologize for the sexual abuses that the priest / bishops did the world over. I think that it would take another Pope to do what you're suggesting, testing the 'sick' and abusive priests/bishops.
I'm an HR practitioner and I could say that most of the psychometric testings are more or less accurate.
Salamat gid Toto.
