Top war crimes suspect arrested in Serbia

Former Bosnian Serb President Radovan Karadzic, the mastermind of 1995 Srebrenica massacre that killed over 8,000 Muslims and Croats was arrested after 13 years of hiding. The massacre of Srebrenica is thought to be the largest human slaughter after the world war two. Karadzic will now face extradition to the U.N. war crimes court in The Hague, The Netherlands. Karadzic supporters gathered around the war crime court in Belgrade as the news of his arrest spread.

The arrest was welcome by several governments and lauded Serbia for their commitment to the International Criminal Tribunal.
